Mathilde Gauvain at her desk

Mathilde

I built my first website at 14 — a Harry Potter fansite, since you asked. Within a year, people were commissioning me to build theirs.

That was 2001. I’ve been doing it since.

In between: a master’s in medieval history, several years in partner and channel management for a large enterprise tech company, and founding and running a product-based business of my own. That combination means I understand business from both sides — the strategic and the day-to-day — not just the build.

I went full-time on web design and development in 2017.

The philosophy has always been the same: your website should feel like meeting you, and it should be entirely your own. Built well enough that when someone reaches out, the conversation doesn’t start from zero — the trust is already there.

That’s also why the process is guided, not handed over cold. Every project moves through the same arc — clarity, identity, presence — because skipping ahead rarely holds up, and I’d rather walk you through the thinking than leave you to guess at it.

What that gets you: a site that’s genuinely yours when I’m done — not something you’re quietly dependent on me to touch. I’ve built my own business from nothing; I know what it means to actually own what you’ve made.

If that sounds like what you’re looking for, let’s talk.
